These plans are unique in the benefits they offer their insured individuals. For example, all SNPs are required to provide prescription drug coverage. You are assigned a network of medical providers with your SNP. You may be able to receive coverage for out-of-network care, depending on your policy. As always, your agent will be able to answer questions about the specifics of your policy.
You may enroll in a Medicare SNP at any time. Typically, you are required to either have a primary care provider or a designated care coordinator to assist you. Outside of basic preventative services, you will also need a referral to see a specialist with Medicare SNP.
